| Abstract: Objective To observe the efficacy of Xiaoyao Pill combined with clopidogrel bisulfate in the treatment of post-cerebral infarction depression (PCID), and to explore its effects on neurological function, depressive symptoms, activities of daily living and serum 5-HT and BDNF levels. Methods A total of 126 PCID patients were randomized into an observation group and a control group (n=63 each). Both groups received standard treatment plus clopidogrel bisulfate, while the observation group additionally received Xiaoyao Pill for 8 weeks. NIHSS scores, HAMD-17 scores, Barthel index, serum 5-HT and BDNF levels, and adverse events were assessed. Results After 8 weeks, the observation group showed significantly lower NIHSS and HAMD-17 scores, higher BI index, and greater increases in serum 5-HT and BDNF levels compared with the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 91.80% versus 75.00% (P<0.05). Adverse reaction rates did not differ significantly between groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Xiaoyao Pill combined with clopidogrel bisulfate can alleviate neurological deficits and depressive symptoms, improve daily living ability, and upregulate serum 5-HT and BDNF levels in PCID patients in the short term. The combination shows clinical potential, though its long-term efficacy and mechanisms require further investigation. |
